Though individual tracks do stand out-McVie's 'Over & Over,' 'Never Make Me Cry,' 'Sara,' 'Storms,' and 'Beautiful Child,' 'Buckingham's 'Walk a Thin Line' and 'Tusk'-the album is best experienced as a long, flowing whole, moods emerging, harmonies shifting, and odd sound experiments percolating underneath the smooth professional sheen. It comes with four inner sleeves, all with different artwork. The Spirit of Troy (USC Band) did the recordings, has the gold records, and continued appearances with Fleetwood Mac to put your version to shame.

The quality is average, and the vinyl is not super-quiet, as many may expect with a re-press. Amazon seems to group reviews of the same product - even when they're different formats - together so I'm going to clarify this is a review for the 2015 Expanded 3CD Remaster.Disc One - Tusk (2015 Remaster of Original Album)Tusk (1979), along with Rumours (1977) and Fleetwood Mac (1975), was already remastered in 2004, but since Rumours received an updated deluxe remaster in 2013, it makes. As for this drivel that Tusk is referencing, I can only hope this was a bad attempt at humor.

Buckingham took on much of the production himself, recording at home and in the personally modified Village Recorder studio in West Los Angeles, until he fashioned an album both quirky and accessible, as much a part of the '70s rock elite establishment as informed by the funkier experiments of the emerging punk and new wave. Just in case anyone is curious this edition of Fleetwood Mac's 'Tusk' is not pressed on 180 Gram Vinyl.

It's an expansive, 20-track collection that allows each of the three songwriters-Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, and Stevie Nicks-to stretch their musical vocabulary with the very best sonics that money could buy. Fleetwood Mac decided to follow up the career-defining, best-selling Rumours with an album that would not compromise their integrity or seem like a quick rehash of their proven FM-radio-friendly formula.
